    Default Railway Photography ceases

Colin Marsden's publication has ceased owing to a new printed product.

He has gone to be the editor of Modern Locomotives illustrated.

I think that the man has lost the plot somewhat though, as in a statement regarding this, he says that photographers should not submit items to "free" magazines for no financial gain.

Pot, Kettle etc Colin. I think you were more than happy to receive many pictures when it suited you, but not now eh.!!!!!

Railtalk will gladly accept any pictures that are available and interesting for publication in their monthly magazine, and we will admit that we do not pay for any of them. Nor do we charge for the magazine or our time or website fees or expect to. WE do it because we are more than happy to, we are rail enthusiasts who want other people to see our enjoyment. We won't be charging and we won't be going to print and then making stupid statements.

So goodbye Colin from the E-magazine arena, but I think you might have shot yourself in the foot this time.

    Default Colin Marsden statement.

I can hardly believe Colin Marsden's statement! I personally, feel very honoured that Andy Patten, has accepted me as one of the Railtalk Magazine archivist photographers and I have great pleasure in seeing my photos published in the Railtalk Magazine. I also enjoy seeing all of the member's railway photos and I am sure that we all enjoy submitting them. In my opinion, the Railtalk Magazine is excellent and very well produced and our editorial team and those who submit photos and articles should be congratulated. I suggest we keep up the good work and ignore Colin's comments - no doubt aimed at a small minority of professionals.
