    Default Eastleigh Observation Evening - 18 June 2008

    Members of the Mid-Hants Railway Preservation Society -Southampton and Waterside Regional Group and the local RCTS are planning a social observation evening on Eastleigh Station on Wednesday 18th June 2008 from around 5.30pm onwards. We will ask permission to be there and hopfully it will be granted. If you are within the area, you are all welcome to come.

    During the course of the event, 14 persons from various railway organisations, joined the gathering on a rather un-spring like dull and cool evening. The normal SWT and Cross-Country booked trains seemed to be running to good time. Container Traffic was busy and an oddity was a single car ex-Central Trains livery - arrived for a "Works" visit. In spite of closure, Eastleigh Works still hosts trains for re-painting etc..
