    Default Time to perk up?

thisisscunthorpe reports that a "Richard Tuplin" has admitted to three counts of child abuse, or something like that. This would tie in well with the current farce of downtime/late magazines over at RH HQ.

As serious as it sounds this is an ideal time to get some new members as it looks like you might soon become the main free magazine on the net...

Yes, we have been talking about this, last night and today.

We don't know what will happen to him, or the magazine.

MAN POSED AS TEEN IN ONLINE CHAT ROOM
    Date : 03.05.08

A Man who indecently assaulted an under-age girl, was later found to have posed as a teenager to have online chats with young girls, Hull Crown Court heard.

Richard Tuplin (29), of Eton Court, Scunthorpe, committed the sex attacks a number of years ago, when the girl was about 12 or 13-years-old.

Caroline Wigin, prosecuting, said the youngster, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was playing billiards at a North Lincolnshire address.

"As she leaned over the billiard table, the defendant touched her breasts over her clothing," she explained. Tuplin told her not to tell her parents what had taken place.

On another occasion the girl was alone in a house with Tuplin. He led her upstairs and touched her breasts.

Tuplin then told her to sit on his lap. "He held her hands and got her to jump up and down. He then went to the bathroom and told her not to tell her parents," said Miss Wigin.

The girl confronted Tuplin about his behaviour a couple of years later. He grabbed hold of her wrists and told her not to tell anyone.

She saw him again a year or so later and again said she was planning to report the attacks. He responded by giving her £50. "It was not until 2006 that she came forward and told police," Miss Wigin said.

Following his arrest, officers examined his computer. They discovered he had been posing as a teenager called Nick, in order to have online conversations with young girls about sexual matters in internet chat rooms.

Sharon Beattie, for Tuplin, pointed out he had no previous convictions and he had a commitment to business as well as charity work.

Speaking of his business, Miss Beattie told Judge David Tremberg: "It is successful but it is still at a fledgling stage. If you were to deprive him of his liberty, that would fold."

Tuplin admitted two indecent assaults and one offence of indecency with a child.

Judge Tremberg told him it was better he received treatment than being given a short jail sentence and being released without any further intervention.

He told Tuplin: "It must be a matter of enormous shame for you to appear at Crown Court, in public and in the dock, and having the world know what you have done."

Tuplin was given a three-year community rehabilitation order, with the condition he takes part in a sex offenders programme.

He was also made subject to a sex offences prevention order. This prohibits him from a number of acts, including allowing any girl between the ages of 12 and 16 years to stay at his home address.

As well as being ordered to register as a sex offender, Tuplin was banned from working with children for an indefinite period.

I don't really think slagging him off is that mature. Yes he did something bad, but has been punished accordingly. Hopefully he has learnt his lesson and will carry on with his job/life.

Slagging off fellow enthusiasts is real good going isn't it, considering we get enough of it off the general public and media
