Default Bad news for the Lakeside and Haverthwaite

Bit of a falling out me thinks, which can only harm the line, no thought given to those hard working volunteers

I will admit that only having been on the line many years ago, it was disappointing as a truncated route, somewhat isolated and would have been much improved had it been re-opened to Ulverston. However, it is a shame that the commercial operators do not see the benefit with the preserved stock and the work of the volunteers. I assume that the directors of the company are confident that they can run the line at a profit on its current resources????

This is not good news. I feel really sorry for all the volunteers, they are the people that have made the line what it is today.I hope they find somewhere that will treat them better!Good luck for the future.

This can only be bad news. I would of thought that, in the present economic climate, they would be welcoming all "free" labour with open arms.

You certainly would think that all lines would welcome volunteers with open arms, but sadly this is not the case
