Slam Door 3-CIG units to be withdrawn from Lymington Heritage Line.

According to Colin Boocock, at his lecture on Eastleigh 100, which I attended in Bournemouth last Saturday, he indicated that the 3-CIG units may go to Knight's Rail.

Yes - Mr. Knight already has some slam door electric stock stored and he proposes to restore and introduce an electric train suitable for main-line running.

THE LAST WEEKEND OF THE SLAM DOOR TRAINS AND THE VERY LAST SLAM DOOR TRAINS OPERATING ON THE NATIONAL NETWORK WILL BE 22 / 23 MAY 2010! So time is running out to get your photos if you have not already done so. ( Note - Check before you travel a long way, as often the 3-CIGS get replaced by Desiros ).

There are special events being planned for Saturday 22nd May 2010. The Chairman of the Friends of the Lymington to Brockenhurst Line is to make an announcement regarding it on 1st February 2010 at their lst AGM being held in The Community Centre, Lymington at 7pm.
