Firemen were called in after a teenager was left stuck in a luggage locker in a railway station yesterday (Weds) evening by pals.
The 18-year-old was set free after officials at the station heard a voice coming from a locked luggage locker at around 9pm and called emergency services.
Fire-fighter Robert Lichtenauer, who led the team that rescued the teenager, said: "The young man was suffering from lack of oxygen and claustrophobia but was able to climb out of the locker himself after we had opened it."
The teenager, who is 1.75-metre tall, had been in a locker measuring 40x70x70 centimetres.
Lichtenauer said the teenager, who went home after an examination by a doctor, said he had asked pals to lock him in the locker as part of a prank.
