    Default Greaty Western Strategy

    1st September 2009

This has appeared on the BBC Web-Site today. It concerns First Great Western strategy.

The plans are more realistic in the short term than the recent overhead electricfication announcement.

I was personally pleased to see that there are thoughts in increasing the capacity of the Portsmouth - Cardiff service, as in most cases trains are two or three coaches and overcrowding is a problem especially Westbury - Trowbridge - Bath Spa, where there seems to be the greatest demand.

Have to say that since the Great Western electrification scheme was announced there has been much froth about what will happen. This does make things clearer.
