    Default Great Central Diesel Gala

Just have to say that the guys who run the GCR are completely inept at running a timetable correctly.

For the umteenth time on the line during a gala we were forced to wait outside a station for a considerable time..

Listen guys, don't publish a timetable that you can't keep to, just like you do every year!!

Nice line, great line up of locos, but sadly let down by timekeeping.

And whilst on the subject of timetables, whats the point if not only do you run trains late, but you also run them in the wrong order.

I think one of the problems with heritage line galas is the timetables are too tight, with very little time for any recovery, especially where it involves multiple locomotive changes. It is very annoying when any timetable plan does not work in reality.

But it always seems to happen at the Great Central. The NYMR which is a much longer line seems to have few problems
