Default Report on Social Morning at Lymington

Three of us gathered at Brockenhurst Station - James Paice, Russell Burgess and myself. We travelled on the booked slammer of the day - 3-CIG 1497 "Freshwater" in blue/grey livery - to the Pier and then back to the Town Station. We walked to the quay and took the shots of the train crossing the Lymington River - and the tide was in! Then a walk to the main High St for coffee followed by a visit to the home made pasty shop for take-away hot pies! We returned to the Town Station and went back to the Pier on the train and then returned to Brockenhurst, before another trip to the Pier, where James asked the driver to take our photos in front of the unit! Hopefully he will be posting them on Facebook. Back at Brockenhurst, the 12.29 departure was filmed by James, with the driver obliging him with a blow on the horn as it departed! In all, a very successful and enjoyable social morning and we were blessed with autumn sunshine all the while. If readers would like to have further social gatherings arranged - whether railways or otherwise, please let me know and we will arrange some further dates.
