Hello from 46426

Just a quick one (pardon?)

I'm 46426. I'm named after the 2nd Ivatt 2MT that pulled an SLS special from Penrith to Workington (via Keswick and Cockermouth) in Spring 1966 to mark the closure of that line. Lots of photos were taken of this special, which was headed by 46458. Everybody remembers the lead loco, but no-one remembers the 2nd. I remember it, as I saw this special as it passed through Seascale that evening. This probably gives you a rough idea of how old I am!
I live in Edinburgh, and have done since 1974, but I'm not a Jock. These days, I'm into writing railway timetables, but only for my own satisfaction. I never get the job(s) done, as I'm missing timing data that I can't get out of the PTT. Therefore, in the near future, I'll be pestering the forum for WTT data.

Welcome to the forum - all ages are very welcome. I also probably your age as I witnessed the last days of steam on the Bournemouth main line in 1967! Claims to fame are - I travelled on the last public steam hauled train from Lymington Pier to Brockenhurst and also the last public timetabled steam hauled trains from Bath Green Park to Bournemouth Central ( West had closed by March 1966 ).
