Work on Southampton Tunnel commences this weekend - 5th / 6th December and continues until 11th January 2010. This will be phase One of the Work to Widening the tunnel to take the new containers. Phase two will be done December 2010/January 2011. During the work, daytime and early evening trains will run as a reduced service on a single track and weekends and for 2 weeks over Christmas, there will be complete closure.
