Greetings all. My name is (as you can see), Ivan. I live in Ulverstone Tasmania and I confess to being a total interloper as my main interest lies in writing about motorsport - In particular, historical Motorsport.
In researching two young ladies who raced across the Nullabor Plain in 1928, I discovered they had not only beaten the existing record set some months earlier, but raced againast the 'Transcontinental' train of the day. I have been trying to find a rail historian ever since who could help me a little with some of the realities of the journey of that era. I would love to know (for example) what sort of engine, how many, what stops etc in order to broaden the factual basis of my work. Any assistance would be most warmly welcome.
