Seeking Help with Historic Australian 'Transcontinental'
Hello people. Hope you will forgive my interloping as I'm really a motoring writer stuck for information who has rudely turned up on your patch.
I am currently researching two rather fiesty ladies who set a Perth to Adelaide (Australia) motoring record way back in 1928. At the time, quite a bit was made of the fact that they raced the 'Transcontinental' of the era, though I have been hard pressed to discover anything about it.
I have tried the (Au) National Railway museum, though they have not replied to my e-mails. Other, smaller museums have been most generous with their help, though have regrettably not turned up anything.
Is there anyone out there who might be able to direct me to books, websires or historians who might be able to help?
